BC Crop for Kids Scrapbooking Weekend

Friday afternoon I arrived at the Ramada Inn in Abbotsford for the 2009 BC Crop for Kids Scrapbooking Crop. I didn't take very many photos this year and some of the ones I did take didn't turn out. ARGH!! My point and shoot and I are having issues. Here is a small collection of photos and a few stories. Friday night I met my Scrapaholic friends for dinner and drinks at the White Spot in the hotel. After dinner we all strolled over to the registration desk to get our welcome packages and find our seats. Then it was time to set up our Scrapbooking Creation Stations. I was pleasantly sandwiched between all my friends.

For dinner on Saturday night I decided I wanted pizza and to watch the ALCS Baseball Game #6 between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans for New York City and the game was cancelled due to rain. But I found a couple of friends in Hayley and Carrie to join me in our room for a Pizza Party and I did find the Canucks game on T.V. to help suffice my need for some sports action while waiting and waiting for our dinner. Let's just say that FREE pizza is really really delicious.

Saturday night was the Tropical Night Theme Party and I was all dressed up with my muumuu, leis, sunglasses, palm tree and pineapple drink. There was some really great costumes, way to go all you Scrappers. This was also the time when the Scrapaholics presented to Mary and Sandra from Crop for Kids our Fundraising cheque for $1000.00 for BC Children's Hospital. Thank you to all those that participated in our fundraising efforts.

On Sunday morning I decided to take my camera outside for a mini Fall photo shoot. I love the changing of the seasons especially from Summer to Fall. The colours are just amazing. I was reaching over some plants trying to get a great Macro shot and low and behold I met this guy. I first jumped back and then decided that I should shoot him too.

Hope you have had a great weekend and Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Get Packing

Today is sure a turbulent Thursday, oh my! I have my lists ready and lots of things to do. This morning I was at my first stop of a long list of errands to run and noticed that I had a flat tire. I limped my truck home and set up the air compressor to fill the tire and see how fast it was going flat. I found a small piece of metal sticking out causing my problem. The leak wasn't too fast and so I drove to Costco to have the tire repaired. Not originally on the list to do but I could make time if I had to. When at Costco I was told it would be 3.5 hours before they could fix my tire and that I wasn't allowed to leave I would have to sit there and wait. I do like to shop at Costco but I don't think I could spending 3.5 hours shopping. I pleaded my case of having to pack and run errands before my trip tomorrow and the fact that I had to pick up my child before that but with no sympathy I drove my leaking truck home. :o(

DH will fix it for me when he gets home one way or another.

I have already started packing for this weekend's Crop 4 Kids Retreat in Abbotsford.  I'm going to be really organized and get alot accomplished this weekend. I love it when a plan comes together.

I was flipping through a few photos today and found this one of Oscar and I. We had a lot of fun dog-sitting him for the Thansgiving Weekend.

Have a great weekend and do something Creative!

What Goes Around Comes Around

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, especially for you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make but I hope you will.

2- What I create will be just for you.

3-They say I have a year to get it to you. But I promise it will NOT take that long.

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It’s a surprise to both of us at this point.

The catch?

You must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.

So the first five people who post, and are willing to pass it along, will get a handmade gift in the mail from me.

When you get it, make sure you post a pic on your blog!

Have you seen Stacy lately?

One person that has helped me through many hurdles in scrapbooking has been Stacy Julian. I just love her and find that I'm always looking forward to reading what she has to say. Most of the time I can totally relate it back to my life and my scrapbooking life. Stacy has recently set up a new website and blog and she is giving away this fabulous new tool for making your own brads from Imaginisce. Everyone can enter by going to Stacy's Blog. Please help spead the word and the love. She has a new giveaway each week for those of you who like the "free" stuff.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by.

My Creative Expo

This weekend I have made time for Scrapbooking and am very excited with my creations. I didn't end up going to the Creative Expo in Langley and so I decided to have have my own. LOL I used some new products, old products and some new to me products. :o)

I am going to make another layout or two and then pack up for my big Scrapaholics Crop tomorrow. I have a few projects to work on. My Niece is turning 10 on Wednesday and I want to make her a mini album for her birthday. She really loves scrapbooking and I wish that we lived closer. You can see her creations in the above layout "Sleep Over".
But for now I'm off to create something. Have a fabulous weekend.

Food Fotos

I love going out for dinner! I especially love it when the presentation of the food is foto worthy and of course that my trusty point and shoot is in my purse with fully charged batteries. On Wednesday night Izzy and I went to the Dockside Restaurant in the Granville Island Hotel to celebrate my birthday. Everything was fabulous from great company, yummy cocktails, pleasing appies and sweet wine. ***Beware here are a couple of yummy food fotos***

Vegetarian Egg Rolls

Crab Cakes

The main course was delicious too, just not as photogenic. LOL

Today was spent running errands, visiting a friend, spending time with family and SCRAPBOOKING!!! I will post my layouts tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

World Card Making Day

This past Saturday was World Card Making Day and so I dusted off my supplies and sat down to create. It didn't take too long before I was able to create these 3 cuties. After these cards my mojo was still flowing so I moved onto a double page layout. I will add the layout later this week once I get it photographed.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

My Birthday

Happy Birthday to ME!

What a wonderful birthday it has been, with so many phone calls, blogs posts, emails, etc... Thank you to all who thought of me today. I did sleep in for some extra beauty sleep until 6:30am. LOL

For lunch Robin made me a super scrumdeliocous meal. We had meat pies, veggies, Ho Hos and my all time favourite ice cream, Pralines and Cream. Thank you Robin, you are the BEST!

For dinner my boys took me to Applebee's. We had lots to eat and one of my favourite desserts the Carmel Blondie Brownie. Yummy!!!

For my present my boys got me a new Guitar Hero cd Legends of Rock. Michael and I rocked it out for a couple of hours tonight.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and wishes, you really made my day :o)

Love & hugs, ScrappeeDiane

First of October

Well the first day of October brought lots of rain in my neck of the woods. Speaking of woods, today was Michael's first fieldtrip to Minnekhada Park. I should have known it would downpour today, since that is my track record with fieldtrips. But fun we had, we hiked along the trails and saw Mushroons (various kinds), Beaver lodges, many different Ducks, Newts (2 different kinds), a Water Scorpian and many other pond species. As we were leaving the park we also saw two deer grazing in a field. Here are a few photos from the Rain Forest.
Thanks for visiting, have a great month.
