So You Think You Can Scrap Challenge #5

I'm absolutely loving these challenges, Thanks Izzy :o)

Here is challenge #5. This layout was done in the Urban Chic style with lots of bling from the glitter on the corners and the flower at the top, lots of Heidi Swapp Bling, and Making Memories Crystal Brads. There are over 25 words describing me at the age of 17.

Colony Farm Photo Shoot

My friend Hayley and I have decided to get out and start playing with our cameras. The best way to get familiar with them is to use them regularly. Today was our first playdate and we decided to go to Colony Farms to shoot all the Fall foilage. What a beautiful day we had. Here are my top 6 photos favourite photos of the day.

Anyone else a baseball fan?

Wow!!! What a game five. My fav team is the Boston Red Sox and they just came back from being down 7-0 to win the ball game 8-7 and send it to game 6 of the AL Championship Series. Boston is down 3 games to 2 in the best of 7 series. This is the 2nd biggest comeback in history. Wow!!!

GO! BO SOX GO!

and the winners are...

Well I'm sad to see all that money, time and energy wasted on an election that changed absolutely nothing. I'm sure down the road we will see a few changes based on what Canada had to say. I do think it is sad that in order make a stand a good chunk of Canadian Voters abstained from voting to make their point. I also think Hayley is right when she noticed that not one member of the Green Party won. Has society forgotten about Mother Earth?

Thanksgiving has never been a celebrated holiday in my family. Sometimes I make a turkey and sometimes not, we never have anyone over for dinner nor do we receive dinner invitations. Strange I say. Hmmmmmm. I am thankful for many things though and try to remind myself of this everyday.

Here is my top 5, off the top of my head.
1. My family
2. My friends
3. My Ipod shuffle (I would really like a Nano)
4. My new colourful walls
5. My laptop

I'm off to bed now, 5:10am comes very early :o)

So You Think You Can Scrap - Challenge #4

I'm loving this So You Think You Can Scrap challenge put on by my friend Izzy through our group the Scrapaholics. It has me digging in the bins and finding great older photos that finally need a page to call there own. This week is based on graphic design and we had to create a l/o based on one of two advertisements.

Graceland - I used lots of embellishments from Heidi Swapp Clocks and Bling, American Crafts Thickers, Prima Felt, Basic Grey Rub-ons and lots of rub-ons from various other manufacturers. This photo was from our trip to Memphis in 1998.

New products

New products, new ideas, around the corners of life they keep coming. I'm very excited today, I am now going to be carrying Copic Markers at my store http://www.getcreativescrapbooking.com/. I expect them to arrive by the end of the month. I'm looking forward to playing with them and creating some awesome pages, cards and altered items. I'm thinking I will need to get the airbrush system also. I can still remember walking along Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco some 15+ years ago and watching an artist paint with an airbrush onto t-shirts and I was fascinated. I have always wanted to try. Now is my time to play.

What a Birthday Week...

This past week has been very busy with Michael's Basketball, Soccer and Bowling. On Thursday it was my birthday and my boys took me to McDonalds for dinner, then Michael had soccer practice and then it was parent/teacher meetings at Michael's school. Michael picked out the best card for me, it really makes me laugh. He also got me some Purdy's White Chocolate and English Toffee, my favs.

Friday night was my Birthday Crop Nite and it was fun to have my friends help me celebrate. They had a pot luck dinner with two cakes, fun party hats and a great inspiring evening of Scrapbooking. I was working on and finished my layout for the "So you Think you Can Scrap" contest, week 3. It was romance and I love the layout, it was with a picture from 20 years ago. I'm really enjoying these challenges, I love stepping outside the box as well it is forcing me to Scrapbook. I'm also using lots of the older photos in these challenges and so that is exciting to be using the photos from yesteryear.

Friday night Michael played his first Basketball game of the season and scored 10 baskets. That is incredible since last year he averaged 1-2 assists per game and zero baskets. The Coach wanted to know what he ate for dinner. Frozen Macaroni and Cheese dinner. I'll try feeding it to him again this Friday. LOL

Saturday was the Clipper Street Garage sale and so I met my friend Robin there and we found a few deals. My two best buys was a Mimi Tote I have wanted for the past three years because I had past it up the last time it was on sale for a good deal and a Magnetic Poetry Stamp Set. I'm all about the words these day.
Soccer was at Noon Saturday and Michael's team was not in full form. They lost 4-0 and just didn't look like themselves. They get a rest next week so hopefully they will bounce back in a couple of weeks.

Saturday night I had my brother and his family over for dinner to celebrate Michael's and my birthdays. We had Chicken Wings, Salmon, Scalloped Potatoes and Veggies. For the cake we ate the left overs from the night before. The Chocolate cake was to die for, it was made by my friend Robin. Thanks Robin!!!
Sunday was an all day Crop in Lions Bay with my friends Kandice, Izzy and Jo. I love spending time with them, they are all so talented and just great ladies.

Monday was bowling with my Ladies League, I had a great day by bowling 142, 175 and 208. My average is 143 so that is a GREAT day :o) This afternoon I spent getting caught up on some work for the store as well as unpacking from the all day crop yesterday.
