WEEKEND GETAWAY

This past weekend I was lucky enough to go on a

Scrapbooking Retreat with my dear friend Robin.

We caught the 11:20am Ferry on Friday to the Sunshine Coast.

Our first stop was shopping for some Christmas Gifts

and Lunch at Molly's Reach in Gibsons.



Then it was on to our "home away from home" for the weekend.

 peaceful and totally enjoyable environment.

Meet Walker

Meet, Walker!

This sweet little one named Walker is 9 weeks old and she is a PADS dog in training. A co-worker is her adoptive Mom. She will be at the office every day for the next year until she graduates and finds a new master who she can help enjoy a better life with. I'm sure you will be seeing a few photos of her on my blog and in my scrapbook over the next year.

And of course I was lucky enough this past Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy the company of my #1 Adopted pet, Oscar.

My friend Sue and I love to go to Mink for Chocolate Fondue and Michael has always wanted to go so for his Birthday, Sue and I took him to Mink for the first, and I'm sure not his last, trip to Mink.

Then we went for a visit with Daisy, another sweet puppy.

What a special day this was, thank you Sue.

Inspired by the VAG

Today at lunch I had no errands to run and so I decided I would go for a quick visit to one of my favourite places, The Vancouver Art Gallery. Every time I step foot into this wonderful place it transports me to a place where there are no boundaries and I really feel like I can create "Art". Today it inspired me to finish a painting project that I have had on the go for serveral months. I am thrilled with the way it turned out. Sometimes I get so concerned about getting my art perfect that it paralyzes me from fininshing. The VAG allows me to see that art truly is in the eyes of the beholder and as long as I like what I'm creating that is all that truly matters. I hope you all like it too but I will be okay if it is not your "cup of tea".

The house on the right is a project I'm working on that I have been given by my friend Jo. She has challenged me to decorate this house, take a photo of it and then scrap it on an 8x8 layout for her scrapbook. I love a challenge and am very honoured that she wants my creation in her scrapbook.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
May you be blessed along your journey in life.

This weekend I have spent time creating, renovating, organizing and a wee bit of housework because I just HAD TO! Here are a few of my creations.

My organizing project was to take a bin (12x12x2) full of ribbon and transfer it onto bobbins and expand my ribbon cases from 4 to 6. Holy Crap...that is alot of ribbon. I think the next 100 layouts must include ribbon. LOL! It was so exciting to have an empty container at the end but I just can't decide what to use it for. Maybe you can help me decide? A) I could put all my thickers into it, right now my thickers are taking a beating stuffed in the hanging file folders I'm currently using, B) I could put kits that I have put together for Retreats or All Day Crops, or C) I could put pattern paper into it so that I can reduce the amount of paper that is on my table in Studio "D".

My renovating project is turning my office into Studio "D". I hope it will be completed in the next few weeks. I have taken a few before photos and then will match them up with the after photos to show you all the transformation. Stay tuned...
