Hey there, I'm tying hard to get back on track.
Thanks for stopping by.
The next twelve posts are a quickly put together kit that I had from TLC.
I know I didn't spend much time putting these together
but right now I really just want to catch up and
finish some of these projects that I have acquired over the years.
I always have such big plans. I really think I have more time on my hands than
what I really do. I hope you have a great and inspired day.
((hugs))

What a Ride!

No not that kind of ride........Unfortunately it has been a Roller Coaster ride for someone who hates Roller Coasters.

On Saturday, July 17th at approximately 6pm my DH tried to dodge getting tackled by a 10 year old boy on the Football field during the annual "Parents vs Kids Football Game" at Golden Ears Provincial Camp Ground. First I got the call on the walkie talkie stating there was an injured player down and then found out it was my big guy. He was being transferred back to the our campsite where I was enjoying a nice cold beer and catching up with a friend while playing a game of King's Cribbage. I know better than to take this old body out to play in a football game. When they arrived back I quickly got organized and loaded the patient in the truck and headed for Eagle Ridge Hospital 45 minutes away. Michael decided to stay back at the camp with the other four families. We waited close to an hour just to get through triage at ERH, unfortunately it was a very busy night. DH had xrays taken and the dr said no bones were broken and that it was probably a minicus tear. Take Advil, ice it, keep it wrapped, and walk with crutches was the doctors advice.  I had to leave DH at the hospital at 10pm waiting to have his knee wrapped and fitted for the crutches. The camp ground at Golden Ears locks down at 11pm and I had to make it back to my little guy. DH took a cab home and his Dad helped to get him settled in. Due to DH's job he is unable to go to work and is off on until further notice.

Sunday July 18, 2010...Today will be a better day. I packed up the camp site with the help of DS and loaded up the truck. May I just say I find camping alot of work for 2 days when there is all three of us helping but to do it down a man is just the *****. Upon arriving home I decided to tackle DH's chores of unpacking the truck, putting all the camping gear away, and washing and detailing the truck. Then I headed inside to my chores of unpacking the food, clothes and laundry. It is now late afternoon and I'm ready for a break. I decide to take my break in front of the computer getting caught up on emails when I find out that my Modem has died. Kaputs, finished, done like dinner! I spent an hour trying to figure out if it was fixable but I was exhausted. Too exhausted to figure it out so I'll make dinner and head to bed early. DH still can't put any weight on his knee.

Monday July 19, 2010...Today will be a better day. Can't remember what happend this day but I do know it was not good. I'll fill in the details later when my memory kicks in. .....LOL.....

Tuesday July 20, 2010...Today will be a better day. DH saw his doctor and he is hopeful that it is just a stretched tendon. DH can put just enough weight on it to balance himself without falling over. A small improvement.

DS was picked up to play on a Select Baseball Team representing Coquitlam and tonight is the first practice. When we arrived at the practice we find out that the coach has decided to cancel the team because there had been some changes to the tournament rules. I'm very bitter about this becuase the changes were very slanted and not in favour of these kids having a right to play baseball in a fair way especially after the original rules were set.

Wednesday July 21, 2010...Today will be a better day. Nope...I find out by fluke that one of my BFF's has lost her Grandma, thank heavens for inner intuition. Without my internet and no email I'm lost. It is amazing how connected we are these days to technology. DH sees the physio guy and he thinks it is probably a torn ACL. Unfortunately we will not know for sure what is wrong until he can get a MRI.

Thursday July 22, 2010...Today will be a better day. Yes it was! DH decided that he was well enough to hobble his way to Seattle with us for the two Baseball games Mariners vs the Red Sox, this coming weekend. We will have to change some of the plans but we are just glad he is coming with us.

Fast foward to Monday July 26, 2010...The new modem arrived and I am now re-connected to the internet and the world. Seattle was good, we did a little shopping, saw two baseball games, and DS got to run around the bases at Safeco Field.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings if you are still reading. As you know I like to use my blog as my journal to document things that happen in our lives.
