Since paying weekly visits to the Vancouver Art Gallery I have found
myself inspired to try new things. I understand my proportions are off
alot but not bad for my first try at drawing a portrait. Because I knew
I wanted to document my new found inspiration I decided to draw
directly onto a 12x12 piece of cardstock. The kraft brown colour
closely resembled the paper with which the great artists in the exhibit
used to draw their masterpieces. It really fascinates me how when
you break down a drawing it is merely pencil strokes on paper.
Of course if you are talented enough and can figure out how to
connect them you can make a beautiful picture. Maybe one day
after lots of study and practice I too can draw a portrait
that I would be proud to place on display.
Oh! Oh! You should really see my bowl of fruit. LOL!!

you area a brave brave girl for drawing right onto your cardstock! I love the VAg ... it is one of the best things about the city! I am so glad you are getting lots of time to visit!

As a matter of fact, I was there yesterday, and left with a really strong urge to pick up the conte stick and start drawing the figure.
