September is always a busy month for my family. It is the beginning of school, fishing season and the start of the busiest two birthday months for our family. This past weekend we celebrated Michael's 10th birthday. I can't believe 10 years has gone by so fast. You are one of the best things to come into my life. Now for the big celebration.
Friday night was your Birthday Party with 14 of your closest friends. We went bowling and had a blast with the music and strobe lights. Here is a photo of you with all your birthday presents just before you opened them all. You were so excited by all the gifts and there was a real big assortment of things. Everything from $ to Lego to Gift Cards to Hockey Cards.

Your buddy Evan spent the night and on Saturday morning I took you both to IHOP for your Birthday Breakfast Strawberry Crepes. They are our favourite.
In the afternoon Michael and I baked and decorated his 2nd Birthday Cake. For the party on Friday night we had a Bowling cake from the European Bakery. Now it was time for "Cake Boss" Mikey and his helper Mom to create a masterpiece for the family dinner. We baked a rainbow bits cake and then iced it with French Vanilla Frosting. We used fondant to make the Balloon and Present decorations and the final touch was just the right amount of sprinkles. This was a lot of fun to do together and I can't wait for the next cake event.
Here Michael is opening the present from his Dad and I. He was very surprised to get tickets to the Seattle Mariners vs New York Yankees Baseball Game in Seattle on Sunday. Yes the very next day.

On Saturday night we had Uncle Troy and his family come for the Family Birthday Dinner. Michael asked for KFC so all I had to do was go and pick it up. That was easy, bless his heart.
Sunday morning we were up bright and early and on the road for Seattle by 7:30am. We arrived at Safeco Field at 10:30am and had to wait 40mins for the stadium to open. Once inside we went down close to the field and watched the New York Yankees warm up. I took my Rebel camera and got a few shots close up. The first photo is of Derek Jeter and the second is of Ken Griffey Jr at bat. The great thing about this pitch is that it ended in a home run. The Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees 7 - 1.

After the game we headed back to towards the border stopping at K-Mart, Target and Wal-Mart in search of Baseball cards. Michael loves to collect them and here in Canada it is hard to find them at a reasonable price.
When we arrived at the Canadian Border around 8pm there was an hour and 20 min wait. So I took the opportunity to get this photo of the three of us. What a great day with the exception of the border line up.

Happy Birthday Mikey!
