A couple of layouts

Here are a couple of layouts that I have done recently. I have not had that much time to scrapbook lately. I'm looking forward to this weekend because I have my monthly Scrapaholics Crop on Sunday and so hopefully I'll have more creativeness to share with you next week.

Last night I went out for a wonderful birthday dinner with my friend Izzy to the Dockside Restaurant at the Granville Island Hotel. Yes I did take photos of our dinner and will post them tomorrow. Thanks again Izzy for making my birthday so special, you are a wonderful friend.

Have a great day!

World Card Making Day

This past Saturday was World Card Making Day and so I dusted off my supplies and sat down to create. It didn't take too long before I was able to create these 3 cuties. After these cards my mojo was still flowing so I moved onto a double page layout. I will add the layout later this week once I get it photographed.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

My Birthday

Happy Birthday to ME!

What a wonderful birthday it has been, with so many phone calls, blogs posts, emails, etc... Thank you to all who thought of me today. I did sleep in for some extra beauty sleep until 6:30am. LOL

For lunch Robin made me a super scrumdeliocous meal. We had meat pies, veggies, Ho Hos and my all time favourite ice cream, Pralines and Cream. Thank you Robin, you are the BEST!

For dinner my boys took me to Applebee's. We had lots to eat and one of my favourite desserts the Carmel Blondie Brownie. Yummy!!!

For my present my boys got me a new Guitar Hero cd Legends of Rock. Michael and I rocked it out for a couple of hours tonight.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and wishes, you really made my day :o)

Love & hugs, ScrappeeDiane

First of October

Well the first day of October brought lots of rain in my neck of the woods. Speaking of woods, today was Michael's first fieldtrip to Minnekhada Park. I should have known it would downpour today, since that is my track record with fieldtrips. But fun we had, we hiked along the trails and saw Mushroons (various kinds), Beaver lodges, many different Ducks, Newts (2 different kinds), a Water Scorpian and many other pond species. As we were leaving the park we also saw two deer grazing in a field. Here are a few photos from the Rain Forest.
Thanks for visiting, have a great month.

Last day of September

What a busy month this has been. And now at the end of it I find myself sick and creatively under the weather. Since I have been resting alot I have been reading my scrapbooking mags and am starting to feel the urge to create something. Unfortunately when I stand up to move I find that I still have no energy and that I better go back to lying down.

I have been blurfing looking for creative sites and have found Candy Shoppe Designs. I must say the ladies over there are very talented, you should check them out. I loved looking at all their creations and a few of them have me thinking about a couple of layouts. They also have challenges and I really love a good challenge. I will see if I have some energy this weekend to possibly "Get Creative".

This September has been a sad one in the Scrapbooking Industry for me, Scenic Route has closed their doors and my beloved Becky Higgins has left Creating Keepsakes. Changes, I don't like changes.

On an up note the new destination for "Crop and Cruise" for Canadians has been set for the Western Carribean in November 2010.

Farwell September, Hello October!

Has anyone seen my Mojo?

Well I have lost it, my MoJo, I just don't know where it went. If found please return to Diane.

Nothing to report on the Scrapping side of life, all is too quiet. Maybe tonight I'll try and get something accomplished. Or maybe I'll sit in front of the t.v. and watch Dancing with the Stars. I'm finding my time is cramped with all the new shows to watch. I'm currently watching DWTS, Survivor, and Amazing Race. This is a lot of t.v. for me. LOL What are you watching?

Thanks for visiting and have a great day :o)

A Little Creative

It has been a few weeks since I have been Scrapbooking. That is a huge dry spell for me. Somewhere over this busy September I have lost my mojo. Here are a couple of layouts that I did at the end of last month.

I am off to the "Full Throttle" Fundraiser Crop tomorrow at the B.C. Christian School in Port Coquitlam and I just don't know what to pack. I have been finding lately that I like to take a small self-contained project to do at crops and leave the page by page scrapbooking for when I'm at home and have all my supplies at my fingertips. So that being said, what do I pack?

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Nostalgia

Today I'm blessing my house and I always pick a cd and load it up. It has been a long time since this one has jumped off the shelf. These songs sure have me singing and thinking. I can't believe the changes in lifestyles and music over the last 50 years. Did anyone else grow up with American Graffiti and Happy Days? It also makes me think what changes are going to occur over our children's lifespans. This morning on the way to school I heard a rather graphic commercial for condoms and I'm thinking the more sheltered times might not have been so bad. LOL

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday to my Little Big Man

September is always a busy month for my family. It is the beginning of school, fishing season and the start of the busiest two birthday months for our family. This past weekend we celebrated Michael's 10th birthday. I can't believe 10 years has gone by so fast. You are one of the best things to come into my life. Now for the big celebration.

Friday night was your Birthday Party with 14 of your closest friends. We went bowling and had a blast with the music and strobe lights. Here is a photo of you with all your birthday presents just before you opened them all. You were so excited by all the gifts and there was a real big assortment of things. Everything from $ to Lego to Gift Cards to Hockey Cards.

Your buddy Evan spent the night and on Saturday morning I took you both to IHOP for your Birthday Breakfast Strawberry Crepes. They are our favourite.

In the afternoon Michael and I baked and decorated his 2nd Birthday Cake. For the party on Friday night we had a Bowling cake from the European Bakery. Now it was time for "Cake Boss" Mikey and his helper Mom to create a masterpiece for the family dinner. We baked a rainbow bits cake and then iced it with French Vanilla Frosting. We used fondant to make the Balloon and Present decorations and the final touch was just the right amount of sprinkles. This was a lot of fun to do together and I can't wait for the next cake event.

Here Michael is opening the present from his Dad and I. He was very surprised to get tickets to the Seattle Mariners vs New York Yankees Baseball Game in Seattle on Sunday. Yes the very next day.

On Saturday night we had Uncle Troy and his family come for the Family Birthday Dinner. Michael asked for KFC so all I had to do was go and pick it up. That was easy, bless his heart.
Sunday morning we were up bright and early and on the road for Seattle by 7:30am. We arrived at Safeco Field at 10:30am and had to wait 40mins for the stadium to open. Once inside we went down close to the field and watched the New York Yankees warm up. I took my Rebel camera and got a few shots close up. The first photo is of Derek Jeter and the second is of Ken Griffey Jr at bat. The great thing about this pitch is that it ended in a home run. The Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees 7 - 1.

After the game we headed back to towards the border stopping at K-Mart, Target and Wal-Mart in search of Baseball cards. Michael loves to collect them and here in Canada it is hard to find them at a reasonable price.
When we arrived at the Canadian Border around 8pm there was an hour and 20 min wait. So I took the opportunity to get this photo of the three of us. What a great day with the exception of the border line up.

Happy Birthday Mikey!

Welcome Back BBQ

Last Friday was the Welcome Back BBQ at Michael's school. The School Staff prepared burgers for all the students and parents, what a treat.

When I entered the school I stopped by the office to say "Hi" to my favourite Secretary and she had this beautiful Sunflower on her desk. I couldn't resist pulling out my camera and snapping a quick shot.

I love the site of backpacks lined up on the pegs, it says "School is now in session" to me.

I love how blue the sky is in this photo. It sure doesn't look like Fall is on the horizon.

Here is the view from my back deck, if you click on the photo to enlarge it you can see the Golden Ears Bridge and Mt. Baker. This is why I love my house.

This past weekend I attended 2 crops and had a great time. On Saturday I got to spend some quality time with Kandice at the Lions Bay Crop and completed a layout which I will try and get uploaded tomorrow. And on Sunday I got to spend the day with my Scrapaholics Buddies at our Scrap-A-Versary Crop. I had a great time socializing, eating and humming and hawwing over a few layouts. Unfortunately the only thing I got completed was the samples for the Beginners Class I'm teaching on September 26th at the Full Throttle Fundraiser Crop.

And now it is Bedtime for Bonzo :o)

Let's Play "Ketchup"

Or better said "Catch Up". Rewind to last weekend.
One Fish,Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish...
Michael and his Dad went Salmon Fishing and Michael caught his first salmon, hook, line and sinker. WTG!!!

Fast Forward to this weekend and away they go again. Michael caught his 2nd Pink Salmon and Dad was good enough to take photos for me to Scrap.

Our annual first day of school fieldtrip this year was anticipate by all. First we collected all our friends and made our to McDonalds for lunch.
2nd and most desired was the trip to the Gelato Store. Oh so many flavours, it is just so hard to pick just 2.

I love this mural at the outside seating area of Casa Gelato. Of course it is mandatory to get photos throughout the fieldtrip and not just of the kids but of everyone. Here are the Mom's.

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow with another update from last week.
Have a Happy Monday!!!
