Weekend Update

What a fun full weekend. On Saturday night I had the priviledge of answering the phones on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon. This was my first year and I was surprised when I found out that I would be on stage. Here I thought I would be in the backroom. I took some great donations from some very generous British Columbians. I was very happy to see that in stretched economic times people were able to still raise the bar and donate over 8.3 million dollars for kids in need.

Sunday was a great day too, I spent the first half with my friends at the monthly Scrapaholics Crop. This event was at the Pick of the Patch store. I was able to get one time consuming double page layout done as well as chat with friends. I will post a photo tomorrow.

I came home mid-afternoon and watched the Daytona 500 with my boys. The race was shortened due to rain which made for a disappointing finish. I like that Matt Kenseth won but I would have rather seen them race to the finish. There were lots of crashes and heated moments that added to the excitement.

The season has begun, The Amazing Race, is back!!! I love this show. I can't believe some of the stunts they have to perform. Last night they had to bungee jump head first on the 2nd longest bungee jump in the world. Yikes!!! Don't think I could do it.

Today was bowling and shopping with my dh. Tonight I have started filling my suitcase, I'm worried it won't all fit with the plan I have created. We may have to move to Plan "B". Does anyone know what Plan "B" is?

I Love Fridays :o)

Fridays make me smile, especially the Fridays when I have all my work done before taking a great vacation. I'm all giddy inside. Sorry, it just slipped out. It would sure be fun if we could all go together.

The other day my DH thought to pick up the camera while my DS and I were watching something on the computer. I love these shots.

This week we celebrated our 21st Anniversary since we hooked up (it will be 17 years married this August). I love that new saying. I'm sure it is not new, just new to me. LOL My DH brought me these beautiful flowers and a card. Love him.

Today I spent the day teaching two classes to some of the support staff from School District 43. Here are some of the cards.

Tell us about the photo.This photo was taken August 2006 at Splashdown Waterslides in Tsawassen. We were taking a break from sliding and just relaxing on the grass when the boys, Michael and his friend Evan decided to give me a hand and back massage. This was a great day.

What's up Doc?

Everyday I listen to Bugs Bunny and Tweety Bird, hence the title today.

Friday Michael and I started practicing for baseball season by throwing the ball around after school. At the end of February he has try-outs for this season. I also spent time chipping away at the snow that is still impeding parking in front of my house. Michael had a basketball game from 7-8pm and then went to a friend's for a sleepover. I packed the store for tomorrow.

Saturday was another great Crop with a View in Lions Bay.

I got a layout done and a second one sketched out.

Sunday morning we went to Castle Fun Park in Abbotsford to play mini golf, batting cages, soccer cage, hockey cage, Deal or No Deal and lots more. We turned our tickets in for a huge bag of candy. Sorry no pics because I decided to go without my camera and enjoy not carrying anything. It was nice but I could not do it all the time.

Sunday afternoon was our Variety Pub Day at Samz Pub in Poco. It was a great turn out and thank you to all those who participated and donated. No time for photos.

We raised $1,600 for Variety The Children's Charity.

Monster Truck Show

My family and I enjoy a lot of different sports.

This past weekend was our yearly Monster Truck Show at B.C. Place Stadium.

This is a new act, there were two riders, both set on fire riding around performing tricks for over 2 minutes. It was amazing. Once there tricks were completed they laid on the cement floor and got douced with a fire extingusher. That's Hot!

Monster Mutt Dalamation is driven by a talented lady.

There is a large percentage of female drivers in the Monster Truck series.
Go Girl Power.

Now this one is driven by a man, yes a very talented man. When seeing a monster truck show you hope and pray to see a roll over. We were lucky enough to see two, Grave Digger and Monster Mutt.

Batman really does fly.

Michael is becoming such a great photographer.

Now if I can just get him to be a better model.

I find it interesting how many photos you can take in a few hours with continuous shoot. My DH took over 300 photos at the Monster Trucks. Some great shots, some not so great shots. It is my job now to weed through them, print them and scrap them.

16. I'm so jealous of my friend Hayley for having such a great real-life story. Here it is....."Johnny Depp once said "Hey Hayley, see you at the wrap party I guess" to me while I was waiting for a bus on Burrard street and he was walking back to his hotel. (21 Jumpstreet was filming at my school a lot) What totally ruled was that there was a group of girls waiting nearby as well, and they practically fainted. Oh I was ALL THAT and A BAG A CHIPS!"

This is an Accordion Card I made for my DH, it's his B-day tomorrow. Shhh don't tell.

This is an album I'm making called "A Peek into my Week". I have had to journal and take pictures of a week in my life. Now I'm going to print the photos and add them and the journalling to my album. I'll post a finished photo as soon as it is complete.

I put the finishing touches onto my Crop & Cruise Acrylic Album and can now state that it is completed. Nothing left but to create another one after the cruise.

My last two swaps for the next few months were my l/o in Jo's Circle Journal (which I forgot to take a picture of before I past it along) and this Birthday Girl Pouch Swap I'm doing with some friends over at Split Coast Stampers.

The organization has been completed and now I just have to remember where everything is and where it goes back to once I'm done creating with it. I'm loving my new system, All Hail IKEA designs!

Where did the month go?

Where did January go? I have been busy with Inventory, Year-End Accounting, Scrapbooking, and Family Fun. I have really focused on my personal Scrapbooking for the past week and am excited about finishing a few projects, getting into a few more and just move a few more along towards the finishline. I will post photos asap.

Tomorrow is Elvino's birthday and so with the snow coming I had him run out today to pick up the groceries for the Birthday Dinner tomorrow. Lasagne made from scratch, it is his favourite.

Today I took him out for lunch at East Side Mario's. We really enjoyed our pasta meals and they have all you can eat Salad and Bread. My dh eats alot and therefore he is excited when he leaves a restaurant full. LOL

We're Back.....

Here are a couple of photos of our arriving home. I will update the blog later today once I heat up the house. No sense in heating up the house when I should be sleeping soon. I think it is 3:39am when it is 1:39 and I also took two sleeping pills for the plane ride home. The camera card is acting funny because of the cold weather and I can't upload all the photos just yet.

Wow what opposite weather from Vancouver we had on the trip. Let me just say we saw the rain for the first 5 minutes we arrived and the last 30 mins before we left and that was at the airport and it didn't matter because we were inside anyway.
